The drums are beating strong, rhythmic, syncopated, echoing, drawing focal attention. Get ready.
The trumpeters blast a short, precise announcement. Get ready.
Multitudes of people are coming, dancing, shouting, singing.
Get ready.
The King is coming. THE KING IS COMING.
Prepare ye the way. Prepare ye the way of the Lord.
Palm Sunday followed by Easter are coming and the choir is already there while preparing the music that will assist people to prepare the way of the Lord.
Many are out buying new outfits, getting ready to worship the True King of Kings.
Get ready. The King is coming. He really is coming.
A voice cries in the desert:
Prepare the way of the Lord,
Make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low;
The uneven ground shall become level,
And the rough places a plain.
And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
And all flesh shall see it together
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
Isaiah 40:3-5 (Old Testament – Surprised?)
How should we really get ready to meet the King? When it happens, none of the beautiful clothes, flowers, nor Easter egg hunts will matter.
First accept the King as Lord indeed over your soul, mind, body, and spirit.
If you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
Romans 10:9
I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother shall be liable to the council, and whoever says, “You fool” shall be liable to the hell of fire.
So if you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Matthew 5:22
You have heard that it was said, “You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemies”. But I say, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you salute only your brethren, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Mathew 5:43-48
Get ready. The King is coming. He really is coming.
You may say that you do not believe that there is a King. There is no judgment. There is no heaven to gain; no hell to avoid. This does not matter, for you are not the one who defines reality. What if you are wrong?
You can believe completely that you will not die. But your belief does not define Truth, only how you deal with it.
The drums are beating strong, rhythmic, syncopated, echoing, drawing focal attention. Get ready.
The trumpeters blast a short, precise announcement. Get ready.
Multitudes of people are coming, dancing, shouting, singing.
I hear them, don’t you?
